Party Birds....Birthday Card

Good Morning Ya'll

Today's card sure makes me smile.  I think that punch art adds so many dimension to cards and I made sure to add a bit to today's card...Party Birds

This card features a family of birds that are heading to or are attending a Birthday Party.

I also love the use of our fringe scissors to make the grass pop off the page...It really looks like they are standing in the grass.  


SPONGING...Sponging gives the grass and clouds a great touch too.  It needed little bits of color to make the background more colorful. The white background was so plain, and I wanted to make sure the birds were in a scene and not just in mid air on the card...

ENVELOPES...Do you take the time to make small additions to your envelopes?  I added just a touch of sponging to the envelopes too.  A bit of cloud, a smidge of green for grass makes this delivery a little more colorful as well.  Presentation is everything, why not add a little creativity to the way your card is delivered.


PUNCH ART...These little birds were created with 3 different size circles.  A heart cut in half and rounded makes the perfect wings, and just little snippets of orange triangles for the noses.  Additional circles were punched from Retired Stampin' Up paper " Summer Smooches"... The circles for the hats were cut not in pie shapes from the center but from edge to edge...This way the hats were taller and would not look to misshaped for the little birds.

DOODLING.... Lets not forget the doodling. I added the little sweeps on the wings to look like feathers, for the legs we added straight lines and little feet.  I also added the little tail for the streamer on the balloon.  All small things but they add such character to the card don't you think?
