Bubble, Bubble, Toil & Trouble

Hello Friends,

When the 2019 Holiday Catalog premiered, I just couldn't believe all the wonderful new suites of products that Stampin' Up! rolled out for us... When I say suites I am talking about a collection of products that all coordinate together to make some great projects.  Sweet Suites as far as I am concerned... I just love the great treat items that they feature in the Holiday Catalog... Comment today and I can send you a catalog of your own...It is so much better in person!

Here are my Monday Make n Takes using this cool suite Toil & Trouble...

I made 3- 3x3 cards and envelopes to match...

I really had some fun with this suite of products... And I am sure that if your were on the bench about this set you will surely make up your mind to add this to your shopping list.

Card 1: The Little Witch Card-

I stamped all the images on this card, and colored them using the Stampin Blends Markers.  I just love the ability to shade and highlight with these markers.

  1. Cut your Whisper White cardstock, I like to use 12 x 12 paper when I do 3x3 cards because I get an even number of cards with no waste.  I love not having waste. (Tip: With your Stampin Trimmer, score your 12 x 12 cardstock at 3" and 9" all the way across, then on the same direction cut your paper in half at 6" on the same  Rotate you cardstock to the right one time and then cut the cardstock at 3", 6", 9" and you will get 8- 3 x 3 cards out of one sheet of 12 x 12 paper.)
  2. Cut your desired patterned Toil & Trouble Designer Series paper from this suite to a 3 x 3 square. I used the stars and dots pattern for my card.
  3. Stamp your witch, broom, frog, and your sentiments on Whisper White cardstock. Don't forget your envelope, stamp your little frog in the lower left front corner using the Cauldron Bubble Stamp Set and using Memento Ink.
  4. Using my Stampin Blends markers I colored the images.  I used both shades in the following colors: Granny Apple Green, Blackberry Bliss, Basic Black, Smoky Slate, Crushed Curry, Crumb Cake , Bronze, Ivory and Rich Razzleberry.
  5. Using the Cauldron Framelit dies that match this stamp set I cut out the broom, witch, and frog, and I cut the words of my sentiment apart so that I could space them out on my card.
  6. Using the tombo glue I glued the designer series paper to the card base, so that it flips open from the bottom up.
  7. Using dimensionals, I put the other elements on the card front. I space the words apart so that the frog could sit on the second set of the sentiment.

Card 2:  The Witches Cauldron-

  1. Your card base is cut if you used the 12 x 12 sheet from step 1 of card number 1, if you are using 8 1/2 x 11, on the short side of you paper score at the 3" mark, then rotate it to the long edge and start cutting at 3", 6" and 9", this will give you a 2" strip left to work with to stamp your images and color.
  2. Cut a 3 x 3 piece of Toil & Trouble Designer Series Paper for the card front. I used the Granny Apple Green paper with the white dots.
  3. Stamp your cauldron, cat, and sentiment on Whisper White cardstock, and I stamped my broom on a piece of crumb cake scrap of paper that I had left from another project.  Your scraps are perfect for these pieces.  Don't forget to stamp your cat on the envelope too.
  4. Using the Stampin Blends markers I colored the cauldron, broom and cat.  I cut the words to the sentiment used apart word by word. I used the following colors in addition to the ones used on the first card: Cherry Cobbler and Pumpkin Pie.
  5. I cut out the broom, cat and cauldron with the Cauldron Framelit dies.
  6. I assembled the pieces on my card front, again opening from the bottom up, top fold.

Card 3: Spooky Witches Hats-
  1. Cut your Whisper White cardstock with either of the steps in the previous cards for step 1.
  2. Cut a 3 x 3 piece of Designer Series Paper for your card front, I used the Gorgeous Grape Striped pattern.
  3. I used the witches hat sheet of the Toil & Trouble Designer Series Paper and cut the hats out of the paper for this card. That is a super cool perk when the thinlets match the paper and you can cut them out too with no stamping and coloring to do.
  4. I stamped my ghosts, and sentiment on Whisper White cardstock, don't forget to stamp the ghosts on your envelope.
  5. I used the Stampin Blends markers to color the ghosts. I used the Smoke Slate shades.
  6. I layered the Designer Series paper on the card front, adhered the hats on the edges and then used the dimensionals to raise the middle hat and one of the ghosts.
  7. I also raised the sentiment, and embellished it with a small piece of our Black mini sequin trim to accent it.

I hope that you enjoyed the cards that I made Monday for my Monday Make n Take Cards... Super cute and fun to make...
